My most recent obsession
May. 16th, 2025 11:36 amIt's the Warwickshire Challenge. I first heard about it from one of LetsplaywithFir3's videos on their Medieval Charter Challenge (MCC), and I was instantly curious. All I knew about it was that the rulebook was huge, which is actually a selling point for me.
It took me a second to figure out how to get to the rules, because the original post is long and contains links to all of the versions of the challenge, most of which are access-restricted on Google Docs. If you're interested in it, just ask permission. I requested access and got the documents within like a day or two.
Currently, I'm playing two different neighborhoods which incorporate the Warwickshire rules. First, Unville (short for Unusualville, but that doesn't roll off the tongue as easily), which is my MCC that I'm slowly incorporating some Warwickshire rules into; and second, Veronaview, which is just converting Pleasantview and Veronaville into a Warwickshire neighborhood from the get-go.
I'm still debating exactly what rules to bring in, because I don't have the patience for everything in the rulebook, and I also am not interested in historical accuracy as much as aesthetics. I am slightly obsessive about consistency in neighborhood rules, and I am trying not to be that way with this. I want to try out several systems and then settle on what works without deleting my progress.
Stay tuned for more on what's going on in these neighborhoods, as well as more BTS notes.
